Natural Shampoo, Conditioner, Essential Oil Medicine Properties

Making shampoo 1:1
1 tbsp baking soda
1 cup of water

making conditioner 1:1
1 tbsp of apples cider vinegar
1 cup of water

Making your own conditioner
Most home-made conditioners use apple-cider vinegar as it’s base. The vinegar detangles the hair and seals the cuticle, while also leveling the hair’s Ph.

1 Tablespoon of apple-cider vinegar to one cup of water (ratio 1:1)
You will also need:

2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
2 cups water
Add all ingredients into another container and shake well.

Added extras:

Favorite essential oils (up to 20 drops)
Fruit Oils
A bit of natural sunscreen
Whole milk
Crushed vitamins (research before adding)

For the base, you will need:

¼ cup natural coconut milk (avoid the kind in the can, try and fid extra virgin if you can)
1/3 cup, clear, natural liquid soap (try a health store)
Depending on how dry or course your hair is, feel free to add:

1/3 teaspoon of almond or olive oil
4 muddled vitamin-e capsules (get rid of the glycerine capsule part) or you can purchase straight-up, vitamin-e oil without the gel capsules. Use about ¼ teaspoon.
Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle; you may need a funnel. Shake well. You can also opt to reuse an old shampoo bottle or a mason jar. If you decide to use a “foam” dispenser, add one cup of distilled water.

Natural Homemade Shampoo Recipe:

1/4 cup coconut milk (this is my favorite that is organic and BPA free) but any will work (UPDATE: a couple of readers mentioned that the canned stuff did not work well for them, but that homemade coconut milk worked great… Depending on your hair type, homemade may be better for you)
1/3 cup Liquid Castille Soap (like Dr. Bronners)
1/2 of a teaspoon (or several capsules) of Vitamin E oil (completely optional)
20 drops of Essential Oils of choice (I’ve used peppermint, lavender, rosemary and orange or combinations of those)
For dry hair: add 1/2 tsp olive or almond oil (optional)
How to Make Natural Shampoo:

Combine all ingredients in an old shampoo bottle or jar of some kind (pump soap dispensers and even foaming dispensers work well for this. If you use a foaming dispenser, add 1/4 cup of distilled water)
Shake well to mix.
Keep in shower for up to a month.
Shake before each use.
Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
If you use a foaming dispenser, it also makes a great shaving cream- just dilute with 1/4 cup distilled water!

For dry hair, try this:

1/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup liquid Castile Soap – your favorite scent
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
1 teaspoon glycerin
1/4 teaspoon avocado oil or jojoba oil
Flip Cap Bottles or Foaming Bottles to dispense

Mix together all the ingredients. Store in a bottle and always shake well before using.

Apply to hair and allow to sit for a few minutes. Rinse well with cool water.

Essential Oils: Essential oils are plant based and have anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-septic, anti-parasitic, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, andti-spasmodic, and anti-neuralgic healing properties. They can be used topically on various parts of the body, in some cases some can be ingested or inserted vaginally, they can be sprayed into the air or on clothing, and diffused into the air through a diffuser.

Essential oils affect the body through the nose, mouth, and skin, and move through the body with ease. When it comes into contact with nerves, it sends a signal to the brain and sets off a reaction. Once it enters the blood stream, it is able to travel throughout the body affecting various systems and organs. Like angels, they deter bacteria, fungi, and viruses, and they work on our emotional wellbeing, helping us to feel good. They also can be used for spell casting, which in essence, is a form of prayer and affirmation.

Depending on your needs, oils can be applied directly to affected areas without dilution, and they can be diluted within carrier oils and lotions. For example, if you have a broken limb, apply a few drops of ginger to the area. If you are feeling depressed, place a few drops of Ylang Ylang to pressure points on your body. Using a concoction of several essential oils, you can create your own unique massage oil or lotion to address your specific needs, symptoms, desires, and dreams.

*Like crystals, pay attention to the warnings that some essential oils come with.
